You might want to keep in mind that AMD was producing copper test parts with a 193nm stepper in the summer of 1999. AMD has years more experience with this technology than Intel does. AMD, unlike Intel, doesn't practice Lysenkoism when it comes to things like copper, SOI, and Rambus.
