I don't quite get the reference - Lysenko, if I remember correctly, was a Russian biologist who proposed a fairly kooky alternative to evolution - saying, for instance, that the reason giraffes had long necks was because they stretched their necks in order to reach leaves on higher branches, and then passed these characteristics onto their offspring. His ideas survived for a while because they were politically endorsed by the Communist Party, rather than their scientific merit. Is that the moral of your story - that INTC endorses viewpoints on scientific processes such as SOI based on their political motives as opposed to fact or logic (while AMD doesn't)? Or am I missing something else here?
