Tripath Tech to cut 40% of workforce (TRPH) By Michael Baro

Tripath Technology (TRPH) is saying that it will eliminate roughly 40 percent of its workforce in an effort to reduce its expense run-rate by 35 percent. The Santa Clara, Calif., developer of digital power processing technology products said it will also consolidate its manufacturing processes and make selective reductions in research and development spending. Tripath also formed an executive management group, which it said would ensure the company's operational plans are "effectively implemented." The shares closed Thursday at $1.34, down 3.6 percent.
