>>GW Bush barely, and I do mean barely, won against Gore, who was a terrible campaigner, wooden and phony.
OK, so you are not immune to the truth. But pollsters agreed that Clinton cut both ways, more hurt than help. While losing, I believe that Gore actually did better than Clinton ever did.
>>Clinton is a great campaigner -- and he loves it. All his best skills: speechifying, empathizing with voters, projecting (real and false) emotions, talking knowledgably about any subject impromptu, general schmoozing and charming, are campaign skills. If only he'd governed half as well as he campaigned!
Clinton only fooled a minority into voting for him, w/o Perot taking GOP votes, he would never win.
>>Clinton had job approval ratings in the 60's up 'til the day he left office.
Clinton left office in disgrace, with low numbers. He's still trying to reinvent himself.
>>Don't you think he could have conviced almost all of those job-approvers to vote for him? I do.
Why? He never succeeded before. Polls showed the majority would not have voted for again. Polls showed a majority were happy to be rid of him. |
