At December end EMC had Asia-Pacific CDMA subs at 35.5m which matches up pretty closely with CDG's 35,730,000.

CDG however shows Q1 growth of 3,887,000 subs from 35,730,000 to 39,617,000.

EMC shows Q1 growth of only +0.9m, from 35.5m to 36.5m.

My personal opinion is that the CDG makes the numbers up each quarter and then attempts to correct them later. They are occasionally in alignment with reality....but it is only on accident <g>.

There is simply no chance that Asia added 3.9m subs during the first quarter. Korea was essentially flat and Japan added around a 1m subs. None of the other markets make much of a difference in the quarterly sub numbers.

An equally idiotic number is the 2.3m CDMA subs that the CDG believes North America added during the fourth quarter. PCS and Verizon alone added more CDMA subs than that...
