NYC Mayor Guiliani today awarded the city"s OBT's to Canada's Frank Stronach. TVG had a foot into an opposing bid by the NY Racing Assn. While it's not over--the legislature has to approve it--it's one more sign that GMST is unlikely to turn TVG into a serious national, much less international, wagering operation. NY's OTB handles more than a billion yearly of the $16B wagered annually (legally) in the US on horse racing.
