Hi heenalu,
Nice thing about Bulkowski's book is he has back tested and documented statistically the numerous patterns he covers. Not a light read by any means, but a great reference. The Ultimate Trader, which I'm currently reading, has an excellent coverage of pattern trading.
Other books & authors (no particular order of merit)
BASIC INTRO TEXTS: Pistolese: Using Technical Analysis, Droke: Technical Analysis,
MORE ADVANCED/SPECIALIZED TEXTS: Barry Rudd - Stock Patterns for Day Trading (2 vols), Dave Landis - Swing Trading, Jeff Cooper - Hit and Run Trading (2 vols); Alan Farley - Master Swing Trader, Joe DiNapoli - DiNapoli Levels (a good fib into as well), Morris - Candlestick Charting Explained,
Many others out there (and on my book shelf), but this should be good for starters - PM with specific questions if you wish. BTW, are you in HI? We go to Maui each year (property there) for a Spring vacation - if I could get fast I-net connection, I'd move there, at least part of the year (would miss skiing).
Today's trading notes: did DCB on NOVN for 1.75, looking to reload if doesn't splatter, stalled at 19 (I was looking for 2d bounce at ~18.5, may be off); short both KLAC and NVLS (from yesterday), both +1.5, may reshort for w/e; still in AKLM & watching how 4.95 holds (recent support) or 5.35 gets taken out (resistance just above). Glad I didn't rebuy MOVI yesterday, think it will still be on sale next week.
Peace and Justice --- Patrick
EDIT: NOVN taking off - looks suspect.
[Mark - are you trading today or watching? Thoughts on AKLM or any others?] |
