I haven't asked him yet. I don't know him so I asked why you said I should get his opinion, as opposed to any Tom, Dick or Harry.

All I saw on TV was a bunch of harried officials trying to count votes. Fair or unfair was impossible to distinguish from the TV pictures. The Republicans were screaming in unison, and I was listening carefully for the observations of anyone who was not working for either party. What I heard from neutral non-party sources was: Some counties seemed to have trouble establishing their standard, and officials were being harrased by party workers of both sides, more by Republicans since they were trying to prevent the counts from finishing. Some county officials stood up to the pressure from both sides better than others.

I never heard a reporter say that counters were making up votes, or pulling any other monkey business; the Republicans all said it with a uniformity that would have done Tass proud under the old Soviet Union. The Republican "bourgeois riot", as Paul Gigot called it, where all the Republican staffers came down from Washington and shut down the Miami Dade count, was covered on TV. I thought personally that it crossed the line -- political parties should never foment riots to halt official procedures, bourgeois or not.

That's what I saw, and I was paying careful attention. Where were you and what did you see?
