No, Clinton's lack of discipline was always the serious issue for me. A womanizer -- as long as stays fairly discreet, which Clinton of course did not -- doesn't bother me much. Unless you can show me that he's harassing subordinates or going after teenage girls I don't regard the women as victims. Monica, to her credit, never portrayed herself as one.

The same characterstics that make a man a good leader also make him attractive to women. Politicians have more than their share of opportunity to be womanizers; it shouldn't suprize anyone that a large percentage of them are womanizers. I think if you removed from Washington all politicians who've had affairs, even multiple affairs, Washington would suddenly become a much smaller and quieter place.

I guess I have more a French attitude towards this (my father was French). Remember, Mitterand's wife and mistress both attended his funeral, and nobody found this strange...
