Aside from any other advantages that may exist, their principal advantage over the traditional WAN plays is that their box was designed specifically for the less-demanding rigors of the metro space. In contrast, many of the other vendors' devices used by ILECs up until this time have been retrofits of larger, more expensive devices that were designed for the WAN, hence, they will probably enjoy a price advantage for the time being. Anyone else?
