Paula Jone's case should have had to wait until Clinton left office. This is the same level of protection that army officers have, for goodness sake -- the suit must wait until their tour ends.

To deny this protection to the Commander in Chief was another of this court's less brilliant decisions. Try reading this decision today with hindsight, and you'll see how ridiculous their opinion that it would not disturb the business of government to have a sitting President answer civil lawsuits sounds today. I really wonder if they would have made the same decision had a Republican been in office.
