We have sunshine practices for a reason. I have argued against sunshine practices here before. I don't know that they're a good idea but, nonetheless, they're the law and we should either abide by them or change them. One can't practice them selectively. And the argument for confidential discussion is particularly lame when one is talking to an industry that one knows like the back of one's hand and doesn't really need to talk to to ensure that its perspective is represented.
