The only way the church can force people to make decisions that fit with their views is to use the coercive mechanisms of the state to impose their will. I have never seen that but I don't doubt the Catholic Church which is mostly a political organization would do that. I'm surprised your silly Asians would tolerate a foreign intervention of such magnitude.
