The Social Security surplus amounts to just another federal overcharging of the taxpaying public-only this overcharge is regressive. It is only the general ignorance of economics that prevents public outrage at the Democrat/Socialists who advocate not just preservation, but expansion of that overcharge. Devoting the entire surplus on a regular basis to capital-friendly reductions in the federal tax burden would allow the Ponzi scheme to at least be perpetuated until a brighter generation can force privatization...
