Bush-Cheney have no plan for cutting greenhouse gases.
Because they want to increase greenhouse gases. The Bush-Cheney constinuents don't include citizens like us (or future generations, or plants and animals) but do include the coal industry, oil industry and all power plant companies none of which seem to be thinking beyond the present tense, are eager to gouge and still have the dinosaurian view that more pollution = more profits. Since they funded the Bush-Cheney campaign in large part, and since Bush-Cheney have always stood for complete environmental deregulation (try to breathe in Houston these days) Kyoto isn't even a consideration in their eyes and they will not offer anything but lip-service and more pollution to the world despite public opinion being strongly against this. In short, they don't present we who must breathe and our children and grandshildren who must rbeathe but they do represent the most greedy, backward-looking fat cat factions of the power industry. That is their true constituency (among with HMOs, drug, tobacco, gun lobbies) and that whom the people who voted Bush-Cheney really put in power. Why? It's baffling. How to change it? Start supporting McCain on campaign finance reform, or Democrats and when you can vote the greedy pigs out of office. It's the least you can do for Planet Earth, which by the way is where we live. It's not a liberal cause it's a human cause. Any conservative who votes for polluting the planet ought to be ashamed of himself. That's not what conservatism is all about. Or it shouldn't be.
