That's not where NTAP is recieving a competitive threat.
We all know there is no cpmparison between an EMC san and an NTAP NAS system.


First, let me say I don't simply want to argue unconstructively. The sentence after the above. The one I didn't copy... You made a little mistake...I think you meant "frankenstein SAN" and not NAS....correct?

One very big point... When you cluster(or bank) together a whole bunch of ntap's largest NAS filers. Connect them together with both ethernet and fiber channel, along with on tap. You have, in effect, a SAN storage system. You have failed to address this issue...
Therefore ntap is competing head to head with EMC in their SAN with a much cheaper system. And to avoid argument... I have written ntap asking exactly how much the cost is in comparison. Since I don't know exacts myself and don't think anybody here does either.

It is misguided understanding everywhere of ntap, like this, that makes me think all of wall street is wrong.
