Pacific Century, Spike Partner For Internet Solutions Venture 12/21/99 SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, 1999 DEC 21 (NB) -- By Adam Creed, Newsbytes. Hong Kong-based Internet company Pacific Century CyberWorks Ltd will team up with Australia-based Web development group Spike Networks Ltd to deliver Web solutions to companies in Japan and the Asia Pacific region.

The joint venture will bring the large Hong Kong-based technology investment and broadband company together with one of the region's largest Web development groups. The companies said the operation will provide Web design projects globally, although particular emphasis will be on Japan and the Asia Pacific region.

Spike, which has been expanding out of Australia, already operates two offices in Japan and has signed up a number of clients through its relationship with Japanese advertising agency I&S/BBDO.

Pacific Century CyberWorks will provide capital and will hold 30 percent of the new venture, while Spike will hold 70 percent. Pacific Century CyberWorks will also acquire a 5 percent interest in Spike through a share placement.
