I think you'll be alright. Ameritrade has been doing fine for a while now. They are starting to add services for active traders and the website is quick. IF they do in fact retain the majority of the NDB customers then this might put them at a level where they can profitably offer more services.

You have to like the commission price of $8, and check out the option trade prices of $8 plus $1.75 per contract.
