Hi Yousef; Re "why are wafers round?" I know! I know! It's because of they way they're made. They're drawn up out of a melt, and there is no way that they could be drawn in any other shape. (At least until someone figures out how, like by using little fingers to push the warm silicon into shape. Patent idea!!! Wouldn't square wafers be more efficient?) In addition to being drawn, they also have to be correctly aligned, crystal axis wise. I guess they make sure they've aligned their seed crystal. -- Carl
