On the first point, I do not know precisely how to alter security arrangements, but then, such an alteration was unnecessary in considering task assignments. On the second, I am not sure it was a matter of politeness, rather than holding firm, which is more consequential.....On Poland, you may be right, although the major population loss was from Jewish areas not highly integrated into the nation, and therefore better counted as a loss to world Jewry. Still, Poland suffered quite a bit. On the other hand, it was not a choice.......
