Gilder would be more helpful if he used actual numbers. Or perhaps he prefers inflammatory language to make his case.

Did last-mile traffic growth "collapse" from 100% per year to "only" 20%? or 30%? or 50%? An initial reading of the sentence conveys the impression that last-mile traffic collapsed...hardly indicative of the facts.

I also question whether there is insufficient liquidity in the U.S. monetary system. IMO there are plenty of dollars sloshing around the country. The dollar is strong because foreign investors have an insatiable appetite for them, not because monetary policy is too tight.
