John, <<<Intel, AMD edge lower in pre-open Chip price war to heat up, analyst says>>>

I don't think the market is as efficient as GVTucker would have us think.

Jonathan Lebed proved that a high schooler from New Jersey could in his spare time, after school, influence the stock market. I think AMDroids are trying very hard to do the same thing and succeeding.

Of course, over the longer term, things kind of even out. Same thing is going to happen here.

The general perception is that Intel is feeling the pressure from AMD competition. Fundamentally, I don't think so. Intel has never been in a stronger position vis a vis competition with AMD. There is a lag between Wall Street perceptions and what is actually happening.

Intel is feeling the heat from a poor economy - but that will change.

Also, if JJ thinks semiconductor sector has bottomed and is turning around - that can't happen if Intel is going in the opposite direction.

My feeling about Dan Niles is that he has lost his way. He was a hard working analyst when he first came out, but now he thinks he is a media darling. He is trying to rub elbows with Willow Bay and Maria Bartiromo.

The Chart on Intel looks terrific.
