Everyone was wildly off on their forecasts over the last year. That means EVERYONE. Of all these people, Chambers is one of the smartest and owns up to it when he is wrong. In addition, so far Cisco is weathering the downturn much better than most of their competitors. So it's natural for people to pin their hopes on what Chambers has to say. If I was to have to make a bet on who would be right, Chambers or you, for instance, I think I'd gladly choose Chambers. No offense, but in this environment, you have to choose the people and companies with the longest track record of success. Cisco and Chambers fit that bill.
