I think you are giving them a little too much credit.

The general perception is that Intel is feeling the pressure from AMD competition. Fundamentally, I don't think so. Intel has never been in a stronger position vis a vis competition with AMD. There is a lag between Wall Street perceptions and what is actually happening.

There we agree. The pressure is coming from Intel. And the release of XP coupled with the $1B marketing program coupled with much higher MHz coupled with a presumed consumer upcycle in the 4th quarter and a corporate upcycle starting next year, I think Intel is just about to turn the screws on AMD.

re: My feeling about Dan Niles is that he has lost his way.

Lots of people have said this before, he's pretty good at predicting Intel earning, real bad at his timing on buy/sell calls. Almost a contrary indicator on his calls.

re: The Chart on Intel looks terrific.

???? Could break either way, IMHO. I would watch for a close above 200 DMA or below 50 DMA.
