Good article Karen. I agree that the whole "franken foods" idea is overblown scare mongering. Not that there is never any danger from any geneticly modified foods but most of the dangers of such foods are the same dangers that normal foods have. Their is some potential danger of alergic reactions in some cases like the starlink case, but even then it was not determined that starlink was dangerous to some humans. It was not approved because the company that made it didn't submit it for approval for human consumption. They could get approval for animals only faster and didn't want to bother with the time and costs for approvals to market it for human consumption.

As for demolibs at the post, they are that but I usually find that they are less liberal then the NY Times.
