Basis100 Appoints Lance McIntosh as Chief Financial Officer

As Basis100's plans for international expansion, financial operations
gets a new face

TORONTO, Aug. 2 /CNW/ - Basis100 Inc. (BAS:TSE), an e-commerce technology
solutions provider for the financial services industry, today announced that
Lance McIntosh, a financial professional with over 20 years operating
experience in both the financial services and technology arenas will take over
the role of CFO from David Campbell.

Achieving EBITDA profitability last quarter is consistent with the
Basis100's focus on profitable growth. The company is now in a position to
pursue opportunities for international expansion, spurring the decision to
identify an individual with expertise in this area. Mr. McIntosh will take on
the role of CFO to lead all financial operations as the company continues its
aggressive growth strategy.

David Campbell will be taking on the position as CFO of WirelessMoney
Inc., a private, Waterloo-based wireless infrastructure and applications
company targeting the financial services industry. Mr. Campbell, who has been
CFO of Basis100 since its inception nearly three years ago, will remain with
Basis100 in an advisory capacity.

"Dave has contributed significantly to the growth of Basis100. He has
been an integral part of the management team through our early growth and
through some very volatile markets," said Gary Bartholomew, CEO and chairman,
Basis100. "Now we have reached a new phase in our development, which changes
our operations requirements. Dave's participation in identifying Lance as our
new CFO has been beneficial, in that Dave understands the dynamics of Basis100
and the type of person who would complement our management team."

Mr. McIntosh has a long history in the management of financial operations
for technology and financial services companies. As CFO of Novopharm Biotech,
Inc., he oversaw all aspects of the company's accounting, financial and
administrative functions, and managed the company's investor relations
department. He brought ATI, the world's largest supplier of 3D graphics and
multimedia technology, through the successful completion of its IPO
transaction in the fall of 1993. He also established ATI's investor relations
department. Prior to ATI, Mr. McIntosh worked in the financial services arena
with The Penfund Group of Companies, which provided a complete range of
merchant banking services and invested in all types of financial instruments,
from term debt to common equity, on behalf of several of Canada's leading
pension funds and financial institutions. In addition, he held a senior
financial position with Canwest Capital Corporation and was also directly
responsible for monitoring operating results of subsidiaries in Canada and the
U.S, including adequacy of financial control systems, and for maintaining
relationships with senior operating and financial personnel.

"Lance is a great fit with the Company," added Mr. Bartholomew. "He has
over 20 years financial management experience working with private and public,
large and small technology companies. As Basis100 looks to grow
internationally, it is important to have someone on board with significant
experience in corporate finance, tax planning and financial operations. We are
confident that Lance will help take Basis100 to the next level."
