lighten up, have a lemonade... Fed brakes are on gently

they are not on hard
they were on hard all last autumn, so now economy pays dearly
we have already been thru the economy coming to a screeching halt

now the FedGoons are gently touching the brakes as they survey the mindnumbing, colossal, widespread, worldwide damage from the combination of the Post-Y2K Effect and the Federal Reserve's irresponsibly tight monetary policy

I think the Fed is in shock
and too proud to admit any errors

the FedFunds rate is about 30-35 bpts higher than 3-mo TBills
thus my interpretation of "brakes on gently"

I believe the Fed is reluctant to ease much more
they fear the rise of energy prices again
the OPEC pharoahs want a higher energy tax now now now
