We didn't even come close to fighting it right. Our political leaders were listening to the flower power instead of their military leaders. Hanoi was off limits until Nixon took office. I saw a segment on the History channel that said Ho Chi Mihn originally wanted Vietnam to become a territory of the U.S like Guam but was rebuffed. Who would have thunked it.
