Dale, Been there and I have seen and experienced that problem. Now many people bring those folded wall type displays and carry in assorted stuff. I once brought in 2 car batteries to run my stuff for the period as they wanted a huge fee for electricity hookups. Cel phones have killed off their telephone scam too. Eventually unions kill theor own jobs as Chicago declines. Many exhibit halls now rent with zero staff(they have no staff employed to spread carpets and deliver exhibits) that then allows the hoster free rein to hire his own haulers and to contract for carpet spreaders etc. The whole trade show phenomenon is getting endangered by the ability of the web to upstage it. We also see more of these floating dog and pony shows that use hotel rooms for more intimeate 1:1 setupps, of the type AMD does, where each supplier has his room and they show their stuff in that room and there is very little of the huge floats that are becoming part of the past.
