as a newbe dummy I sold Sep calls on Aug 2nd. That was far out enough to get decent premium, without trying to predict where the market will be in 3 or 4 months. My attitude is that I think a Bull Market is at least a year away, and I don't see any of my stocks making any big moves before then.

I figure I can write these calls every couple of months and have a pretty good chance of making some money. I could also make a case for writing calls further out and buying them back if I think the market is moving.

All I know for sure is that there are a hell of a lot of ways to skin a cat in the option business.
