"Big" and "tough" in WW2 are accolades that the Russians deserve far more than the US. The Russians went through about 3 times as many Wehrmacht divisions as the rest of the allies COMBINED. And, while the US suffered the comparatively low number of about 300,000 deaths, the Russians spent 10 million of their soldiers and a like number of civilians.

BUt I agree generally with what you said about good and evil in WW2. Later
