So we now have the war of thieves!

a) Today (tuesday 8/7/2001) CSFB downgraded practically the entire semi sector telling investors to sell at these prices while they can! Their call specifically also included LSI. (Philadelphia semi index is expected to fall)!

b) Last week Merril Lynch upgraded the entire semi sector telling investors to buy as aggressively as they can at these prices. Their call specifically included LSI. (Philaelphia index has moved up by about 8% since their call).

c) Lehman Brothers re-downgraded the semi sector yet once again on the same day Merril Lynch upgrade them! Their call included specifically LSI Logic!

d) Solomon Smith Barney re-upgraded the semis last week telling investors to buy at these prices.

Facts that can be deduced from above observations:

1) In a logical world 2 of the above charlatan/pimp gangs will be right and the other 2 will be wrong!

b) However since we are living in an illogical world, the 2 that will end up being right will take the credit, and so will the two that were wrong! Why? Simple! The 2 who were wrong will always claim their downgrades or upogrades were for the short term investors! Whether the slide/or upward movement lasts 1 hour or 1 month, it does not matter. The charlatans always claim they called it correctly!).

e) In short both will take credits (along with billions of dollars at the expense of fools who follow them)!

As I said in the unlikelihood that an average investor happens to benefit from these charlatans recommendations and forecasts, it is simply coincidental and not by design!
