Contributing opinions is what it is all about and the thread has certainly done a bang up job on that the last few days and months. I believe the "Hedge of Thorns" post you put up on Sunday will prove to be a very significant information in coming months. At least it was for me as it gave added insight in an area of importance:

Also really enjoyed fpembleton's post:

In truth there are too many good posts here in the last few days to fit in here.
Our recovery from The Great Chihuahua Food Fight of last Jan-Feb is due to the efforts of those posters you have mentioned and a few others you (or I) may have inadvertently left out. The premise that started TGCFF, was that the OSX was going to correct and that proved to be true despite protestations of the other side. Many folks left SD for dead just six months or so ago, via Heat from the Kitchen of the Wrong, yet SD has survived numerous subsequent attempts at what surely looked like sabotage. Today with a core of contributors with a good track record the thread has once again grown to be a substantial forum.
Posters that don't like SD'ers "Kitchen" should go back to their own forum(s), after all no one is forcing them to read posts here OR write them here.
I believe most of the food fights that start on SD begin when someone is ridiculed for being wrong. That seems to be harsh treatment, but what other penalty is there on a public forum for posts that are inaccurate?? Should errant posts be allowed to stand? Should lurkers and other posters be misled by everyone acquiesing to errors? Is this a place of political correctness or is it a place to understand the market?
In my experience, and I have been wrong more frequently than I like(!), the cure for harsh treatment is to ADMIT being wrong. It certainly takes more guts than admitting being right!
Posters that ADMIT when they err are seldom if ever barbecued on SD, at least not by SD'ers, who I believe respect the right to "goof up" as long as one is willing to admit it when one has goofed! This has been my experience and I earnestly believe no amount posting comraderie would save my posting butt from frying on SD were I to intransigently and consistently uphold an incorrect market view, ggg. Those that doubt this should look up old posts where I sided with SargeK and fought Slider about it. When I finally realized I was on the wrong side of the equation I admitted I was wrong and Slider was right and that was end of story!
This is how SD works in my experience and I have read ALL of the SD posts from the beginning. Not a nice touchy feely system, but one that has evolved on its own through various personna and I believe that it is a superior product, via natural selection, in the end.
Because Striclty Drilling mirrors the market, where mistakes are dealt with severely unless the trader recognizes the error and reverses their mindset!
This is a thread for Market Gladiators who are not afraid to spill a little of their own blood, sweat a little DD sweat of their own instead of constantly freeloading, pursue excellence and dare to be wrong and ADMIT BEING WRONG!
I don't want to dissuade gentle posters who are here to contribute or learn. When they make an honest error they should have no fear, the stalwart posters of SD know the difference between an honest error, or a simple bad call, and the K9 like, set in concrete, deniability is everything, I was on vacation, I have more money (to squander), I'm a (wannabe) stock guru, don't yell at me I'm a human, type of poster.
I know there are some who will disagree and to them I say there are a lot of touchy feely coffee talk type threads out there on SI, help yourself, go there, be gone.
Notice I have only used the term chihuahua as part of the descriptive name The Great Chihuahua Food Fight that this thread experienced January February of this year.
No personal references were intended and all prodigal sons who are repentant of any K9 ways are welcome back to SD,ggg. I hold no grudges, but as a veteran of TGCFF, I will never forget the battle.
For those others, whom the facts will NEVER convince, if you snarl like a Chihuahua, if you bark like a Chihuahua and if you prance like a Chihuahua,
guess what breed of animal you is?
