Ever since GRNO was halted for trading by the SEC I have been requesting documents from the SEC using the Freedom of Information Act, I guess for the past 4 years. With the action taken earlier this year, I thought I would finally receive something from our friends in the government.

Well, it's not that easy of course. "Because these records are voluminous, we would place your request in our first-in, first-out backlog." The cost is approximately $6,000.00 which excludes the cost of copying at .24 cents per page. I guess they charge employees' time to compile the information and charge for copying too.

They suggest paring down my request since the caseload includes transcipts of testimony, exhibits, main and skeleton files, incoming and outgoing correspondence, internal reports, subpoenas, and other miscellaneous records.

I find all this quite interesting since the primary basis for stopping trading was because of false press releases (which were apparently approved by GRNO's lawyer) and the machine didn't even work (and this is apparently highly doubtful if we believe the latest developments).

Sure wish I had an extra $6,000 plus lying around to find out what they were thinking.
