Another ecological disaster is the collapse of fish stocks in the Atlantic. Chesapeake Bay has only a handful of diseased and starved fish left. Why? because plankton is transformed to fish food by the filter feeding menhaden fish. This small oily herring like fish eats algae and plankton and in turn is eaten by bass, or bluefish, or tuna. The menhaden is severly depleated. Why? because of a company Omega Protein which sends out planes to spot the mendaden schools, and fine mesh seines to capture the fish, the whole school. These fish are then ground into chicken meal. Who owns Omega Protein? The Houston based Zapata corporation formed by George HW Bush. TP
