Re: an insult to my intelligence is worse than naughty names.

If you think about it, there are some eerie similarities between now and two years ago:
Just Like Two Years Ago Now

transition from .25 to .18 transition from .18 to .13

Intel thinks coppermine is unbeatable Intel thinks P4 is unbeatable

Intel says "use RDRAM or nothing" Intel says "use P4 or use nothing"

Different From 2 Years Ago Now.

VIA has plans for CPU, little else Via shipping CPUS on .13 process

AMD has no money to fund .25 to .18 AMD has $1 Billion in cash and going
to SOI ahead of Intel

What happened since 2 years ago

Non-Intel market share went from 10%-15% to 20%-25%

What might happen over the next year

Non-Intel market share goes from 20%-25% to 40%-50%

What we might be saying 5 years from now

Remember Osborne? Remember Wang? Remember Intel?
Those were the days, weren't they?
