<I submit for your consideration:
Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut ("Where's the damned cat? Where's the damned cradle?!"). in November of 1966 i am sitting in a chair in St.Thomas,VI(a caribbean atmoshere for a carribbean book:)--i was ,at the time, living in VI,and learning much about chaos:)---well anyway,i sitting there and i come to that line, and i just shake my head muttering "amen,brother,amen,brother--that's says it all"
Indeed as great a line to ever appear in a book ,and he built to that line masterfully.I feel the whole book was written to get to the line--that is from the moment K.V. started to write Cat'sCradle,he was driving to that moment.
