Mani Ahmadi, Re: "It amazes me how people so blindly follow Paul like he is their religious leader and savior from all financial sins."

Paul is no savior, nor has he ever been omniscient, or clairvoyant, or prophetic. He has, however, made some astonishingly accurate calls, and he continues to have an interesting perspective in many situations.

Now, I don't want to get off on the wrong foot with you. I have only just attained premium membership here, although I have read this and other threads here regularly for many months. But I did want to put in my final $.02 on the matter, and hopefully walk away without two black eyes.

I believe you were right to suspend him, Mani. He did openly defy you on multiple occasions, and regularly broke the rules that are the basis for this thread. However, he was valuable because of his ability to debunk much of the FUD generated on this and the other thread. Like it or not, Paul has a consistent and honest way of dealing with things, and I have a feeling that if it weren't for him, there would be few others willing to stand up to those opinionated people who choose to spin information only towards their own goals. The unfortunate thing with Paul is that he didn't stop at those kinds of people, but he also attacked anyone else who would disagree with him, and that's not right. Because of his provoking attitude, he tended to bring out the worst in those people that would have normally been the constructive and informative type.

So I am not disagreeing with your decision, but I hope you can have an idea why some people admired him. It's not always because a given person is in the Intel or AMD camp, and I only say this because your post is crying for that kind of generalization. Rather, Paul had the sort of concise, effective, matter-of-fact manner of making a point that (I believe) many people here wish they had.
