[ADSL, Soros, and the world]

Thanks for responding to the URLs. After reading those Soros speeches I felt as though I owed the man an apology. He definitely has his heart in the right place in wanting to bring the nations of the world together. And he's ahead of most others in recognizing the Internet as the way to do it.

When I first met RC at the annual meeting last December, one of the things we both commented on was how ADSL would change the world --- tearing down barriers of geography and class and all the rest. Kinda neat, he said.

HKT wants to be the first out of the gate with ADSL and they may just do it --- though I know a couple other players who will give them a run for their money. If anyone wonders why I'm so patient with Amati, all they have to do is read a few of the articles that talk about HK and China and their attitude towards the Internet and then connect that with HKT/NEC/Sumitomo (and through them NTT).

At any rate, here's a few more websites with HK articles, the first few from the LA Times and the others from the FT.

We live in exciting times.

Cheers!
