Linda,
I had the same question and spoke at length with a company rep. late this afternoon. The rep. had the following to say:
(1) Everything remains on track. They had nothing to account for the recent stock performance other than to call attention to the recent biotech retreat.
(2) Biogen has the renal failure application on the "fast-track", looking to file an IND for '97, not '98- far quicker than CBMI had anticipated.
(3) 0P-1 has shown an excellent pre-clinical profile for spinal fusion. The company is moving it towards clinical trials.
(4) The non-union fracture data will continue to be unbinded to determine efficacy. All data to this point indicates it will be equivalent to current treatment- though it would elimanate an entire surgical procedure.
(5) Stryker has 30+ personnel specifically dedicated to working with OP-1.
(6) Hambrecht & Quist continue to regard CBMI as a "strong buy".

The rep. was decidedly upbeat. Biotechs can make you crazy. The market ascends and they slumber. The market declines and they wake just in time to decline. These are long term plays. As such, I'll hold until the news proves me wrong. Best of luck.
