On the other hand, you haven't heard "provide for the common defense of the freaking caribou". In the world I live in you hear that all the time....and the wolf, and the bear and the white rhino, etc. etc.. and the habitats in which they live. Maybe you are not listening to the right people. In a world of excesses, not all, but some of the most atrocious acts of cruelty have been prepetrated against defensless animals. Like, what do you think of the killing of seal puppies to harvest pelts, after which thousands of the carcasses are left to rot on the ice? How many whales do you think would be left in the oceans if the environmental advocacy lobby had not pushed for a (near) world wide agreement on hunting limits? Does any of this matter or is it only what advances humans and to hell with the rest? Careful how you answer that question....you may come across as an insensitive Neanderthal as I do a wacko environmentalist. Al
