Very good answer...there has been a huge amount of insider selling of MSFT this year. With the % restrictions that you mention, the volume of the selling could only be accomplished if the overall trade volume were handled the way NASDAQ allows. Knowing that the "real" amount is much less than the reported amount is definitely a requirement. Overall though I think that a 100% increase in volume still represents a 100% increase, it's just an increase of a smaller "real" amount.

Now for another question: Do you think mm's are likely to be privvy to inside info and as such manipulate the price on a short term basis in order to capitalize on such? I have to point to the last couple of week's trading in HECHA as one example that leads to this supposition.
