LLL, I, for one, much appreciate your willingness and ability to provide GMST followers with a peephole into this somewhat insular, not widely followed or understood aspect of the GMST asset agglomeration. Aside from giving some insight into the strategy and progress (slow thought it may be) with respect to this bluegrass world that Henry has seen fit to graze on, if offers an interesting look at that source of passion for millions.
In a prior post, you bemoaned (in your understated way) the loss of the NY OTB opportunity to a (Giuliani handpicked?) competitor. Who is this Canadian outfit, why did they win it, and is it as negative a development as you portray? Obviously, the loss of the NY OTB business and source of possible synergy seems significant, but can TVG thrive in spite of this loss? My experience with OTB is the interspersed parlors in Manhattan, but what are its media presence and capabilities outside those physical locations. Is the horseracing/betting crowd that TVG seeks to attract via MSOs and satellite mortally wounded without the OTB property?
