Dear Tench:

Both Intel and AMD beat revised estimates. They both missed estimates before Intel's mid Q CC. Intel's case is special. They can manipulate what goes into Pro Forma earnings by changing the rules. More costs get taken out than they said they would have and more revenue is included than they estimated. If the estimate was refigured by the new rules, Intel would have missed estimates. This is the trouble with Pro Forma earnings, no stability in what the definition is even by the same company from any given period to another. Just another reason it should be banned.
