Decimalization.

John,

That's an interesting point. Decimalization has certainly had a big impact on intraday trading but I hadn't really thought about what effect it may be having on a longer term basis. I suppose that decimalization made it harder to artificially move stocks because there are so many more levels now.

On a related note, most of the reference material that I see still say that options are traded in fractions. When did options switch to nickels and is a switch to pennies in the works? When you see how small the spreads are in things like the QQQ, it's really painful to see the spreads on the options.
