VISION by Ken Carey

this book actually tracked ME
down in 1986 in my telephone repair
truck one day between jobs when i was
sitting in a parking lot trying
to tap into the wisdom of the universe
for the answers to my dissatisfaction
with the way i was living my life.

something (woo woo) told me at that
moment that my answer would be found
in a book, and when i laid eyes on
the book i would KNOW it was THE ONE.

i drove my phone truck to a bookstore,
walked up and down the aisles, and felt
NOTHING, so i went back to work.

that very evening, kath walked in with
a gift (the book "VISION"). she said
someone had recommended she buy it for me.
she pulled it out of the plastic bag and...
immediately (more woo woo) i recognized it
as the book that was looking for me.

soooo... this book tracked me down, grabbed
my life and blew spiritual smoke up my ass
and deep into my soul before i ever read it.

it completely changed my life. (a whole
nother story)

that's pretty athletic. so i guess i'd have
to nominate it as one of the greatest of the
20th century... if, of course, we're talking
about the power to change the course of a life.

disclaimer to peach:

1) i haven't read many novels BUT
i HAVE read 100s of NON-fiction books.
