This economy needs a kick in the butt and a wake-up call.
The White House is asleep at the wheel trying to give the oil industry more kickbacks and pollution rights. All they seem to care about. That and getting re-elected. And even oil stocks are down. That's how much people listen to the,.

If FDR or a true leader were in charge he'd be standing up in front of America and promoting our economy, our environment, our tech industry, optimism for the future and investing in America. Instead we've got a president taking a 30-day snooze in Texas heat hot enough to boil the brain cells after he just had a vacation in Kennebunkport. Who cares to see him on his golf cart as usual? The malaise is back big-time. People are looking for leadership but all it is is spin. Cheney is smart enough but he doesn't give a crap about anyone but his own inner circle of cronies. The congress is selling out again for fear they won't get enough soft money next year. McCain is beign quietly assassinated for standing up for the #1 most important issue relating to our system of government. The senate is weakened but thanks to a brave man named Jeffords a source of hope, balance and leadership. Our allies are completely disillusioned. Computer viruses are wreaking havoc and no one is getting arrested. And this market can't take a step forward without stubbing its toe which is threatening perfectly good companies with potenial bankruptcy and making more layoffs their only way of meeting estimates.

Where is inspiration going to come from? Not the energy industry or any lobbyist groups, I know that. They're only interested in themselves, and getting ahold of our money and environment. Let's face it, Bush is a total bust. People are droning on about sex with interns as if that matters to deflect the obvious fact that our highest leaders doesn't care and doesn't know what to do about it. Won't even try.

We need leadership now. And focus. Leadership we actually respect and listen to that's on out side, peoples' side, our total economy's side, the fufture of the world's side. That's what's lacking. Vision and courage and inspiration and intelligence. Yes, I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore. You too? (and my business is actually doing well!, knock on wood)

Of course hindsight is 20-20 but the burst bubble has happened, it's history. That is depressing but it's a valuable lesson. A lesson which has been learned. Now we need to fill this country with the spirit of concrete optimism again. Little by little but with certainty. We have a leadership vaccuum and deep malaise. It's mass psychology. The BS bubble promoters, short vultures, lobbyists and CEO's in the White House and the corruption of soft money have all teamed up to weaken and erode The American Spirit. It's brought out the worst in capitalism instead of the best. That is our real problem now. We need integrity. We need to preserve the prosperity. And not give away the environment (for that is our real future). We need to get back to work and create solutions. We need a big spark to light the fuse of prosperity again. We need to take their soft money away which is funding armies of spinners and character assasins. We need to get our leaders to work together and quit trying to just beat each other. Who can do it? Who can lead? Well unfortunately the boob (sorry Bush supporters) in there now can't. Or won't. Or doesn't care. So maybe we have to do it ourselves. Write your congressmen to pass campaign finance reform, don't let them piss away the surplus on special interest giveaways and let's keep our country together. Let's get back on a solid track again and think of the future. If we lead, the world will follow.

And if you think I hate Cheney, why did I buy HAL today? It's not Cheney I hate it's the dispiriting influence of leadership which just doesn't care about anyone but themselves. A very bad example. And without true and honest leadership, we are all at a loss. With more than 50% of Americans now admitting they wish to hell Bush wasn't our president (and probably growing) we now have to take the bull by the horns ourselves. People do count and matter. Every little positive thing you do helps. And that includes investing in America. And believing we are going to see better days even if we have to steer the good ship USA ourselves for awhile. Don't be part of the problem, be part of the solution. Solve one problem in a positive way every day. Together we can kick malaise's butt and get this economy moving again. (thank you)
