Ah. You've added a dimension that I wasn't considering. I was looking solely at the decline in the standard of tastefulness of the product, which I think is mostly a function of what the producers think the public wants. You're talking about the ubiquity of the product--not just the decline in standards of good taste but the extent to which we are reminded of it.
