Gold issues, futures gain

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) - Gold futures prices climbed Thursday, helping shares of most metals companies notch a healthy advance as uncertainty in the stock market prompted risk-averse investors to seek refuge in the sector.

"Gold and gold stocks will continue to rise as investors lose faith in the dollar, equities and bonds in the U.S.," said Constantinople Advisors President John Mesrobian in Williamsburg, Va.
