Dear Robert O:

It is not GAPP, but GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). These are defined by the SEC and based on the Association of Certified Public Accountants. Pro Forma rules have no such basis. For GAAP, the SEC has rulings on how to do various things. Go there for the information ( www.sec.gov ).

Cite me the place to show the definitions for Pro Forma earnings. If it is Intel, then there is a conflict of interest isn't there? You are using bizarre musings as I ground my "musings" in this area in the Intel Quarterly Reports and the above links to the SEC. Yours do not seem to be well grounded at all.

Would you trust a used car salesman that the car you are looking at was driven by an old lady only going two blocks to church every sunday and not been in a major accident or heavy duty use as a taxi? You do not trust politicians with a clear case of conflict of interest, or do you? You shouldn't either from a company that sets a standard by which it is judged. Once in a very long while might be accepted, but not every time. Especially if it is different than everyone else. You may take it with a bunch of salt, but what of the causal investor?

You know I want that level playing field. I also want more information than less. And more quickly. It makes it so much easier. And is one of the reasons I am here.

Pete
